Farrer Park got its name from an early governor of the island republic named R. J. Farrer. This locale has a lesser known history of being the sporting hub of Singapore’s yesteryear’s. It was the home of the horse racing club, frequented mostly by the Europeans during the 1800s. Race days were usually over the weekends, and at other times, the compound is used as a rifle range and also a golf course. This is why to this day, roads such as Racecourse Road can be found here. After horse-racing moved to the Bukit Timah Turf Club, a Sports House was set up and sporting fields created before the grandstand served as headquarters of the National Sports Promotion Board. Farrer Park remained as a favorite sporting venue for decades till the 1980s.
The recently opened Connexion marks a new milestone in the transformation of this locale which has its rich heritage dating back 170 years. It’s completion marks Singapore’s first integrated hospitality, medical and wellness hub. Built right above Farrer Park Mrt Station, this 220 bedded facility is served by over 300 specialist doctors and another 600 plus medical professionals. The 20-storey integrated complex spans across a total floor area of over 60,000m2 with Owen Link, a lifestyle retail avenue located on the ground floor.
Enjoy the fantastic view of Singapore’s city skyline at three different sky gardens on levels 13, 18 and 28 or in the comfort of your own abode. Whether you prefer just a single washroom or dual washrooms for the 2 bedroom units, the choice is yours. 3 bedroom units come with enclosed kitchens for you to cook up a storm. With the last large-scale condominium launch of this area being over 8 years ago, the pent-up demand of such property is at an all-time high.
